The workmanship and experience level of Grimsley's staff is unparalleled and extremely professional. The jobs were all completed on time and within our cost estimates and we are extremely satisfied with each project. Grimsley Group has done a family room addition, remodeled a kitchen and added a bathroom over the last ten years.

We highly recommend using Warren Grimsley as the contractor for any house project you have. We met Warren a year ago when he presented a bid to work on our 100 year- old home. We hired Warren after we saw his impressive finished products, talked to various people who had used him (and raved about
him) and determined that his pricing was fair. We had the Grimsley Group gut and reconstruct the back part of our home and part of the basement. We also had them re-wire our entire home. Warren said the original project would take 5 months. The original project took 5 months. We have only exceeded Warren's original bid because we liked Warren's work so much that we asked him to do additional work for us.
Every tradesperson Warren brought to our home has
been highly skilled, neat, quiet and courteous. The tradesmen were a pleasure to work with and have around. They were particularly sweet to our 2 year old son who was fascinated by their work. Mark, the Grimsley Group supervisor, is thoughtful,
has enormous integrity and takes great pride in doing a professional job. He was always willing to answer our questions and to make sure that we were satisfied. Yanush, the lead carpenter, has a phenomenal "no problem" attitude and is truly a gifted carpenter. Our project included elaborate window casings, curved moldings and other wood detail. Yanush did this work
beautifully and with pride.Because of their experience, talent and personalities, Warren and Mark were particularly helpful in coming up with creative solutions to tricky construction
problems. They were good at helping us determine the most cost-effective solutions, not just the most obvious solutions.
We have heard many horror stories about contractors. We are so grateful that we worked with a contractor we knew we could trust.

We want to thank you for the tremendous job that you and your team did in constructing our home. Every member of your team is a true craftsman, and the quality of construction is apparent throughout the house. Years later, we appreciate not only how very few problems we have had, but also your willingness to help when any little thing has needed repair. You are a true professional and true to your word. The construction was timely and on budget, and we can't recall having one disagreement with you or your crew -- a remarkable feat for such a large project. The members of your team are efficient, considerate,
clean, friendly, and truly first-class in their respective trades. Like you, they are both responsive and responsible, and their extreme competence is clearly evident. We admired the way you were able to solve problems that came up during construction. In addition, we appreciated the way in which you never hesitated to recommend ideas that would either improve the final product or save us money. We have recommended you to
many people, and we will happily continue to do so.
Many thanks for a great job!

It is with pleasure that Scott and I write this note detailing our relationship which began so long ago. We had just purchased our second home in east Wilmette filling it with children and the trappings that life demands. We quickly determined that we had out grown our space and commenced with the first of what would turn out to be several successful "jobs" contracted with
Grimsley group. The 1989 addition was a 250 sq. ft breakfast room, and kitchen remodel. In1993, we undertook an 800 sq. ft. addition which include a master bath, two bedroom, family room and stucco porch addition. Sadly, these additions proved to be not enough space and with the addition of our fifth child we moved into a tired home in Kenilworth in 1998. In the fall of
1998, we undertook a 1200 sq. ft. renovation of the third floor which included creating two bedrooms, a bath and study lounge. By 2001, we undertook an extensive 800 sq. ft addition creating an expended kitchen and breakfast room. We also completed several smaller projects including basement remodel, retiling several baths, foyer, entry ways, installing a gas out door grill
and sink, as well as updating much of the homes infrastructure. At the time of this note we are about to commence with a remodel of the master bath, bedroom and several closets.
It is always something of an unknown when contracting out work. We have continued to work with you because of a comfort level we have regarding the quality of your work, the crew, your integrity, and your ability to deal with any unforeseen situation that usually develops when undertaking projects. You have worked well with every architect I have used and often make useful cost saving and creative recommendations as the projects are underway. You have collegial relationships with the local villages' inspectors. The majority of your crew has been working with you as long as we have known you. They are extremely polite, courteous and English speaking. Sub-contractors are usually local and you are most agreeable to any specific request about materials or changes to the plans. Your work is completed within the specified time frame. We have always found your bids to be extremely competitive. We have referred you to numerous friends over the years and I am able to count nine jobs that have been direct references from us. If this is any indication, our friends are still speaking to us and indicate that they would use you again. We wish you continued success and look forward to working with you in the future.

The Grimsley Group did a major (8 month remodeling job on our house. They were honest and fair, from the initial bid to the final items on the punch list. There were no hidden charges or surprises. An excellent foreman coordinated all the trades, and they all worked as a team with our architect and us. They were all very professional. They took pride in their work, and wonted to get the job done right. They were creative problem solvers, and were cooperative and pleasant to work with.

We have availed ourselves of Warren Grimsley and his
team's professional services extensively during the past 5
years to renovate our very large and old (1800's) house in Winnetka. Specifically, they have expanded and completely remodeled our kitchen and bathrooms, they have replaced windows and added beautifully crafted bookcase to our formal living room. Most recently they completed new construction to
replace our garage. We can't speak highly enough of the Grimsley Group. Their work is first rate, and we rate them highly on areas important to us: responsive, reliable, flexible and fiscally responsible.

  • Responsive. Warren is always available to us, even if we don't have a major job up. Recently, when we were having our porch repainted we had the idea pf adding recessed lights into the ceiling. To accomplish this within the course of the project it would need to be completed within 24 hours. We left a message for Warren who was out of state at the time. He called us back within hours and had his electricians there the next morning.
  • Reliable. As we both work and are not home to follow up daily progress, reliability is critical. Crews are always there when they are suppose to be, and well supervised. On the limited occasions where there has been a miscommunication, Warren quickly worked to correct the issue. Importantly, Warren has very little turnover with his teams so during our 5 years working together we are working with guys that know our house.
  • Flexible. We occasionally like to make modifications midstream in our projects. Warren is very good about this. He and his teams are patient and idea/goal oriented.
  • Fiscal Responsibility. We trust Warren completely on the financials. In pricing out his jobs he tries to work to what you are looking for and on more than one occasion he has brought us a much less solution than what we were looking for/expecting and we have always pleased with the results. We certainly know people who have issues with their contractor. And recently, there was a big TV expose on trusting your contractor in terms of work quality and financials. When we hear this we always laugh to ourselves that these people clearly weren't working with the Grimsley Group!
